Apples and Peaches in Acrylic and Oil

I worked on some acrylic and oil sketches recently. Here are the acrylic apples & peaches:
(There is a bit of glare on apple on the right.) Each are painted on a 12" x 16" piece of canvas. Let me know what you think.

Here are the Apples and Peaches in Oil:

IF: Toy

Here is an older drawing of mine. Charcoal, graphite. 18x24".

Illustration Friday, Prehistoric...

IF's word this week is Prehistoric. While a tree sloth is not prehistoric, they certainly did have relatives that were. This cold snap (in FL) made me think of slothful movement, slow...., even though I do enjoy this colder weather! I used as my model a photograph from Muybridge's Animal Locomotion. Because you certainly wouldn't find any sloths hanging around in this weather. Hand drawn by me, in graphite.

Fun with Bark

A photograph of tree bark. July 2010.

Cocoon, Illustration Friday

This is a monoprint I did awhile back to illustrate a short story. The figure in the middle has a cocoon look to it, so I thought I would post this one. The original is 22" by 30".

Illustration Friday: Wilderness

This is my illustration for this week's (IF) word, Wilderness. Just working with Illustrator's pencil tool and a few easy effects. A quick drawing!

Wrapped, Illustration Friday, August 14, 2009

A graphite drawing for the word "Wrapped."

Cricket takes a stretch....

Cricket enjoys a nice stretch after a relaxing nap. She becomes the long cat.

Modify, Illustration Friday for July 31, 2009

This is an itaglio print I did a while ago. Modify? The solidity of the block will soon modify the energy created by the activity of the orbs. The print is approximately 11" x 14".

This print was derived from observing the flight of sparrows in heavy traffic.

Tango, Illustration Friday for July 17, 2009

Here is my pen & ink drawing for the Illustration Friday word: Tango.

Hollow, Illustration Friday for July 10, 2009

Here is a new drawing, to illustrate "Hollow."

Shaky. For Illustration Friday.

Cricket loves her water....

And, she likes her water fresh-- here she is at my old house enjoying a really fresh drink of water.

Cricket the cat

Cricket, the cat everybody loves. Cornish Rex. Digital drawing by me.

Here is a drawing I did for Illustration Friday, for the word Worn.
